Dying Embers is a Dublin based music collaboration where talented musicians who all have other projects and professions come together for short structured bursts of creativity to put together sporadic large scale shows and develop quality records. The project is lead and administered by Dara Ryder who pens the melody and lyrics of songs which become the foundations of something for collaborators to build on and take in their own different directions. In March 2013, they self-released their debut album ‘At War with the Eskimos’ to critical acclaim. After a long period away, Dying Embers returned to the stage in 2024 with a new batch of song news.

There is no fixed line-up, its more of a collective of the talented, willing and available but regular contributors are Christian Volkmann (harmonica), Aoife Ruth (keys, fiddle, backing Vox), Pete Smyth (bass), Mark Scully (drums) and Michael Sheils (guitar).
